Lanzarote's number one attraction is undoubtedly it's superb climate and numerous beaches which combine to make it a great holiday destination.

The island has over 300 days of sunshine per year, with low rainfall and a pleasant range of temperatures that make it mild in the winter without being unbearably hot in the summer. In 40BC, Pliny named these the "Fortunate Islands" - and he remains right to this day!

With such a mild climate, the pressure to take holidays in Lanzarote during the small peak season of July/August isn't as important as the traditional Spanish costas. Our chart shows how steady the temperatures remain throughout the year:

Wise travellers with no kids know that going off peak is the smart choice, particularly in May/June. Accommodation prices are much cheaper in this period whilst the weather is glorious without ever being uncomfortable.
