Lanzarote Breaks - an online success story

Launched in March 2003, Lanzarote Breaks went from Internet startup to online success story within one year of its launch - by becoming the established source of self-catering holidays in Lanzarote.

The site wins acclaim by bringing independent holiday information to the right people at the right time, thereby delivering a proven source of new sales to advertisers. Over 120,000 people use the website each year and visitor numbers continue to increase, as does the incredible portfolio of Lanzarote property on offer to holidaymakers.

The site is owned and operated by online advertising agency The Breaks Company, a consultancy-turned-marketing firm run by Richard and Lisa Speigal. "Before Lanzarote Breaks, the online information for this unique island was amateurish at best." says Richard. "By using quality technology and a professional approach, Lanzarote Breaks has surpassed all the competition to bring customers the online service they want."

A brief history this website

November 2002

From an idea on paper, serious development work begins on Lanzarote Breaks.

March 2003

The site is completed and launched to the public. A selection of advertisers are invited to try us free of charge for 3 months.

November 2003

The portfolio of Lanzarote property passes the 100 mark. Advertisers renew over 80% of campaigns.

Winter 2004

The portfolio exceeds over 250 properties - no other company provides a bigger selection of self-catering accommodation in Lanzarote, either online or offline.

February 2005

Lanzarote Breaks is overhauled to become an early-adopter of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. Download times are cut drastically for all visitors, usability is greatly improved and this site achieves AAA compliance for accessibility.

January 2006

The portfolio grows to over 400 property advertisements making Lanzarote Breaks the undisputed largest portal for self-catering holidays in Lanzarote.

August 2006

As the site nears its four year anniversary, a grand review of visitor habits results in further improved functionality and layout. This includes better property pictures, shortlist facility and better enquiry systems. Booking self-catering holidays in Lanzarote just got even easier.

January 2007
