About the property

Casa de Fortuna is a new luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa in Faro Park, Playa Blanca in the south-west tip of Lanzarote. It was completed in the Spring of 2004 and is situated very close to the coast. There is a car parking space to the side of the property. It is ideal for families who are looking for a really relaxing holiday and offers the tranquillity that is not readily found in the built-up established tourist resorts such as Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise.

Fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard, the interior of the villa offers classic Spanish architecture with its combination of granite and marble tiling throughout, providing stunning results and a cool airy feeling.

The villa is fitted with charming shutters with integral mosquito nets that guarantee a peaceful night's sleep! The main bedroom is ensuite with bath and shower and the second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms have spacious built-in wardrobes. The second bathroom has a large, marble tiled walk-in shower and a safe for your passports and other valuables.

The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven with ceramic hobs, microwave, toaster and kettle, etc. There is also a separate utility room with washing machine and airer. The spacious lounge area has two leather settees and hi-fi, Satellite TV - Sky Freeview including ITV - dvd and video.

The heated pool is set in a large sun terrace with four luxurious sunloungers. The outside, shaded dining area has a large teak table overlooking the garden. There is also a teak table overlooking the swimming pool - ideal for relaxing with a lunchtime glass of wine, while keeping a careful eye on the children. There is also a BBQ for your use. The garden has been fully-stocked with beautiful local palm trees, shrubs and flowers.

We have provided a high quality heater for warming up the rooms, if necessary, during the cooler winter months and 2 portable fans for the hottest summer months.

A small children's table and chairs is provided for the younger guests should it be need with a selection of toys and games. Any additional baby/young children's equipment can be hired at a small additional charge.

About Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote and has many advantages for those who are looking for sun, sea and sand as well as good fish restaurants that generally host the catch of the day. From Playa Blanca's seafront you can see across to Fuerteventura, which is a mere 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the island several times a day from the main harbour.

The front is populated with a variety of beaches, notably Playa Dorada, Papagayo (reckoned to be one of the best on the island) and Playa Flamingo. Playa Blanca has a relaxed atmosphere compared to the more upbeat nightlife in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants on the front feature a wonderful sea view - perfect for couples and families.

Owner's Tips...

There is a small parade of shops just 2 minutes walk away from our villa. They include a small supermarket for all the essentials, 2 Italian restaurants, 1 Chinese restaurant, a small local bar and 2 coffee/patisserie shops selling fresh bread and rolls and a hairdresser, etc.

There are some lovely sandy beaches and rock pools nearby too - Playa Flamingo is only 2 kms away - plenty of good restaurants, bars and lots of shops in Playa Blanca. Diving, snorkelling and watersports are also catered for in Playa Blanca and nearby Puerto del Carmen. Fishing, horse riding, camel riding, cycling and walking are available too.

The new Marina Rubicon is bursting with lovely restaurants and shops and there are some fine boats to admire whilst you sit and relax at the waters edge. Timanfaya National Park is also about 30 minutes by car and to travel from the south of the island to the north would probably only take you about 90 minutes.

There are also 2 golf courses due to be built in Playa Blanca during 2008. In the meantime there are 2 golf courses in Tias and about 45 minutes drive away in Costa Teguise.
