About the property

Casa Amanecer (House of the Rising Sun ). Enjoy the superb quality of Lanzarote light and air at this luxurious new 3 bedroom 2 bathroom villa, which is situated in the prestigious residential area of Costa Papagayo in Playa Blanca. This is close to the village centre, the beach and also the new picuresque marina with its many shops bars and restaurants.

It is built in the traditional Lanzarote Finca style, designed for outdoor life, featuring a very large, south facing patio and garden, with its own electrically heated, 7 x 3 metre pool. The pool is covered and the cover is easily removed and replaced. The garden is well stocked with tropical plants. On the large split level patio there are six sunbeds, a large garden table + six chairs and a barbeque. To provide shelter from the sun the pergola is covered and there is also a large parasol.

Inside there are three twin bedrooms, all containing two standard 3 foot single beds. The master bedroom has an en-suite with bath and shower. The bedrooms all have large double fitted wardrobes, half shelves and half hanging. There is a safe in the master bedroom available with no charge to all users of the villa.

The kitchen is fully fitted with high quality units. 3 rooms lead from the kitchen: 1. Utility room with a washing machine and drying area, 2. The lounge which contains two sofas, a rustic wall unit, a nest of tables and TV unit containing Satellite TV, DVD and hi-fi. 3. The dining room accessed via an archway, containing a teak table and chairs.

The master bedroom, lounge and dining room all open onto the patio via double doors.

The villa is set in a quiet location with wonderful views of the mountains ' El Rubicon ' from behind which the sun rises. These mountains are particularly magnificent in the evenings as they catch the late sun of the day...making our patio a magnificent setting for an early evening drink and barbeque. The patio is well sheltered on windy days.

The villa is a 15 minute stroll from Dorada beach, a lovely protected golden sandy beach. The village is a 20 minute stroll away from the villa. There is a magnificent 4 mile coastal path offering wonderful views of Lobos and Fuerteventura. This extends 2 miles either side of the pretty village centre, which itself contains many local shops and restaurants. There is a harbour close to the centre from where the ferry runs to Fuerteventura. To the other side is a magnificent marina surrounded by new boutiques and restaurants. There are 3 golden beaches in Playa Blanca, and the famous Papagayo beaches are a 10 minute drive away.

Casa Amanecer is fully equipped for 6 guests. All linen including pool towels, is provided and is changed weekly. Liz and Dave, our English housekeeper, provide 24 hour emergency cover. In the villa there is a file containing details of Playa Blanca, including the location of supermarkets, shops, the many varied restaurants and places of interest worth a visit.

About Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote and has many advantages for those who are looking for sun, sea and sand as well as good fish restaurants that generally host the catch of the day. From Playa Blanca's seafront you can see across to Fuerteventura, which is a mere 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the island several times a day from the main harbour.

The front is populated with a variety of beaches, notably Playa Dorada, Papagayo (reckoned to be one of the best on the island) and Playa Flamingo. Playa Blanca has a relaxed atmosphere compared to the more upbeat nightlife in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants on the front feature a wonderful sea view - perfect for couples and families.

Owner's Tips...

Car hire is not essential but we would say it is advisable. It makes shopping easy, especially as you have to buy drinking water, which is heavy to carry. It also adds flexibility to your holiday. There is so much to see and do, just a short journey away. We have been visiting Playa Blanca since 1988, and have always hired a car from the airport. By the time the cases arrive on the carousel we have our car keys. The journey is easy, it saves standing in taxi queues and is extremely cheap. It takes us 20 minutes to reach the villa from the airport. We prebook the car on the internet and can usually get a Fiat Punto/Seat Ibiza 5 door for £75 - £85 per week. We will be happy to advise on car hire and any other aspects of your holiday.

There are many excellent restaurants in and around the village, many with sea views. Alternatively it is worth a trip out into the villages to experience some of the restaurants used by the locals. These are very friendly and offer excellent food at very low prices.

All of the hotels in Playa Blanca welcome non residents to use their sports facilities and bars, and visitors will be charged the same rate as the residents. It is worth strolling around some of the hotels especially the Princess Yaiza (at the back of Dorada Beach) and the Volcan Hotel, behind the new marina. They are extremely impressive 5 star hotels both inside and around the pools and grounds.

There are many excellent supermarkets some with resident butchers. There are also cash and carrys and a couple of excellent butchers at Playa Honda close to the airport.

Playa Blanca is the quietest resort of Lanzarote, but there is still plenty to do if you are late nighters. Several bars now feature live music, but in most peoples opinion the Irish Anvil Bar is the best and features the amazing guitar skills of Gary five nights a week. This is in Punta Limones by the Port. Upstairs from this is Legends Karaoke Bar, a small and friendly bar run by Marion and Steve. This is open until 2am 6 days a week, and if you want further fun there is Roof-tops, upstairs again from Legends and it is open till 4am.

For sports fans many bars screen live matches, probable the best is Popeye's (on the same level as legends), who can show 4 matches at once on his 20 + screens. Mollys bar (almost on the beach) at Dorada beach also shows Sky football and international rugby enabling you to pop off the beach temporarily to keep tabs on your team. This bar also features live music at night.

There is a 9 hole pitch and put course very near, between Dorada beach and the new marina. There is an 18 hole golf course 30 minutes drive away. There is a driving range on the ring road round Puerto del Carmen. There are plans for two golf courses to be built in Playa Blanca in the future, but they are 1-2 years off at this moment in time.

There are several dive centres on the island, the one thought to be the best, offering on site changing rooms, is at nearby Puerto Calero.

Restrictions:

No smoking in the villa. Single sex parties at owners discretion. No ball games. The pool is obviously unsupervised, and therefore the suitability for young children has to be judged by the parents/guardians. Please feel free to ring and discuss any matter with us.

The pool is private, measures 7m x3m, electrically heated and is covered. The depth is 1.6 metres throughout. There is a life ring adjacent to the pool.

The garden areas are well stocked with tropical plants and for this reason we request that no ball games are played on the patio.
