Accommodation description
Beautiful bright and airy studio apartment. Comprising twin beds, comfortable living space (with TV, DVD and radio cassette) bathroom and well appointed kitchen with all modern conveniences.
It has a wonderful large private balcony with panoramic views of the sea and swimming pools. On a clear day you can even see the island of Fuerteventura! The balcony gets lots of sun and sun loungers are provided so it's a perfect place to sunbathe. However for those of you who don't like too much sun there is a large umbrella on hand. There is also a table and chairs on the balcony.
Though the apartment is in a nice quiet area it's just a short walk from lots of bars, restaurants and shops etc, so has the best of both worlds.
Everything you need is in walking distance, so a car isn't necessary, however should you wish to explore the island further, car hire is recommended and can be arranged through Reception.
In addition, when you arrive you will find a will find a welcome pack consisting of tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. There is also an information folder giving details of the local tourist attractions/places of interest which you can browse through.

About Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote
About 15 minutes drive from Arrecife airport, Puerto del Carmen offers 5km of broad, pale sandy beaches as well as a wide variety of places to eat and drink and it remains a popular destination for holidaymakers from far and wide. Made up of a ‘new’ and ‘old’ town, Puerto del Carmen has no high-rise structures and almost all buildings are white and unpretentious.
For nightlife in Puerto del Carmen you can watch the locals taking part in a few games of boules in the old town, which seems to be a nightly occurrence. The old town also offers a great variety of restaurants serving fresh fish, while if you head off into the holiday area you'll find everything from traditional English sports bars to Chinese restaurants.

Owner's Tips...
There are two excellent restaurants just a couple of minutes walk from the apt - "Marios", which is in the adjoining Montana Tropical complex and "La Chalana" (the Flatboat) which is on the road below the Reception. They both provide great food, good service and at very cheap prices. However if you just fancy a drink, there are a number of nice bars in Montana Tropical. Also it's just a 5 minute walk to the harbour where there are many lovely waterside restaurants and bars to choose from.
Should you prefer to eat in, there is a supermarket just a minute's walk away where you can get all your groceries or if you are feeling lazy, why not pop into Marios (mentioned above) and get a take-away!
There is also a pharmacy in walking distance.
Places worth visiting include the spectacular Parque Nacionale de Timanfaya which has served as a film location in a number of movies. Here not only can you have a ride on a camel if you wish but also have a meal cooked by the heat of a volcano! Jameos del Agua is well worth a visit and Mirador del Rio has the most amazing views. Another interesting place to go is Cueva de los Verdes - caves with amazing stalactite/stalagmite formations and one cavern which is so large and has such good acoustics that concerts are held in it! One of the most amazing places you can visit is the Cesar Manrique Foundation, the former home of the famous artist, sculptor, architect and environmentalist (who created Mirador del Rio, Jameos del Agua, the Cactus Garden, the restaurant at Timanfaya and much more). It is a home unlike any other, with the rooms built within natural lava bubbles and channels but bright and airy despite that, some rooms being open to the sky. There is also a gallery there showing some of his artwork together with beautiful gardens. Other places worth visiting, include Las Salinas, Playa Blanca, El Golfo and Los Hervideros.
Even if you aren't hiring a car for your vacation there are number of organised tours which you can take to enable you to visit all of the above attractions.
Windsurfing - Famara is a great spot for those that enjoy wind surfing.
Golf Costa Teguise (the only golf course on the island) is an 18-hole course set in a wonderful scenic setting.
Scuba Diving - There is a place downstairs in Montana Tropical which can arrange scuba diving trips for you.
For all you wine lovers a trip to La Geria is highly recommended. Not only will you see where the majority of grapes are grown but you will also be able to sample and purchase the local wines at the many Bodegas in the area.
If you're looking for that classy and unique gift then Expo Arte is the perfect shop for you. Located upstairs in Montana Tropical the shop resembles Aladdin's Cave, being full of all sorts of beautiful things and is definitely a must for all jewellery lovers!! Its sister shop is at Puerto Calero, which is a pretty little marina with lots of restaurants and a few shops. To get there you can either walk past Montana Tropical and along the cliffs - a very scenic walk, which takes about 30 minutes - or if you are feeling lazy you can catch a water taxi from the harbour.
There is also a large Sunday market at Costa Teguise which is really worth a visit and will give you the opportunity to get lots of bargains!
You can hire a car through Reception when you arrive or if you prefer to have a car waiting for you at the airport you can arrange this by going into the website www.autoreisen.es who have very reasonable rates.
There is a bus stop oustide Flora Apts which is just a few minutes walk from the apartment. From here you can catch the bus to the Costa Teguise Market as well as the regular buses which go along the Avenida de Las Playas all the way to Arrecife.

“Had a lovely time in this appartment block, the bar staff were very friendly and helpful, and the complex was well situated for all facilities. The appartment had a lovely view from the balcony and had a well appointed kitchen. The living area was clean, but unfortunately the bathroom was not! There was visable dirt on the water pipes, the woodwork, and the bathroom door, and there was black mould on the shower seal. The price of the appartment was very reasonable, but I was very disappointed with the condition of the bathroom.”

“Just returned from a lovely break at Vanessa's apartment. The views are beautiful, the sun is on the balcony for most of the day so the umbrella is very handy. It is very clean and has everything you could wish for. The appartment is at the top of the complex which is very handy for the supermarket, restaurants and bars - Marios was top of my list! We hope to go back soon and would recommend it to our friends.”

“Had a great time at San Francisco ,the apartment was excellent had everything you need,and the views are just amazing,the location is perfect with a supermarket on your doorstep as well as a few bars and restaurants...also has a pool bar serving drinks and snacks all day and a weekly barbeque and quiz,everyone was really friendly.I would definitely recommend this apartment,and would definitely go back.....”
