Owner's Tips...
Sample the real Lanzarote! Punta Mujeres is one of the remaining traditional unspoilt fishing villages away from mass tourism, but with local amenities right on your doorstep. A two minute walk from the property takes you to the sea front with several natural sea swimming pools, unique to Punta Mujeres, very safe for swimming or fishing, with areas for sunbathing. There are plenty mini supermarkets scattered around the village. Within walking distance are restaurants, a cafe and a tapas bar by the sea. There is a bakery and snack cafe as well as a pizzeria. A pleasant walk heading to Arrieta is El Lago, is a particularly good seafood restaurant, very popular with the locals. There are plenty more restaurants in the neighbouring village of Arrieta. There is also a beautiful sandy beach in Arrieta, (around a 15 minute walk away), along with other little interesting coves and small beaches on route.
Very near to the house is the famous Jameos Del Agua, a popular tourist attraction, a beautiful natural sea lake, gardens and volcanic caves. It is possible to walk to from the property along the headland, (around a 25 minute walk).
The nearest sandy beach is in the neighbouring village of Arrieta, about a 1 1/2 klm away. There are plenty unspoilt attractions close by including the "hidden lagoon" around a 10 minute drive away, heading north to Orzola, arriving at white sandy dunes and a beautiful lagoon with clear blue waters. We are in the district of Haria, (Valley of a Thousand Palms), as it is known, and this is a short drive away from the village. There is a traditional Saturday morning craft & local produce market in the bustling village square of Haria with plenty restaurants and cafes, makes a delightful visit. We are also a short drive away to the beautiful Cactus Gardens with hundreds of amazing species of flowering cactus, there is a cafe, entry fee is 5 euros and this includes a free refreshment! The famous Jameos Del Agua is a 5 minute drive away or if your feeling up to it, you can get there by taking a delightful walk by the ocean (around 25 minutes).
Whatever you decide to do there are plenty places to visit or just simply chill out and enjoy the Lanzarote sunshine!

“We stayed here for 8 nights and loved it and the location. There were just two of us but we used the whole house except for the extra bedrooms. The kitchen is great sized and equipped for cooking although the equipment/utensils is just basic Ikea stuff. The living/dining area and master bed/bathroom are spacious and tasteful. We ate all our dinners outside on the patio next to the pool; unfortunately it was too cold to use the pool when we were there. They had a bbq which we used on a couple of nights as well. We had several breakfasts out on the roof terrace, which is fabulous (albeit a bit windy at times). We really enjoyed being in Punta Mujeres. The produce at the shops isn't amazing but I didn't find it to be amazing anywhere on the island. But they definitely have enough to make decent meals. We ate at Las Tres Lunes one night and found it quite nice (and the outside atmosphere was great). It's not an exciting town but we weren't looking for night life. But, we also wanted to be able to walk to services. So it was wonderful in that respect. Oh, and we found the pizza at Lucho's to be quite good and cheap (and you can use their wi-fi). Madge and Paul are very welcoming and I will definitely consider staying there again if I go back to Lanzarote.”

“We stayed at this villa- ground floor three bedroom- in August 2010 and we were very pleased with it. It is very spacious, well layed out, well equiped and private. The village is delightful- very few tourists, quiet in the afternoon at siesta time, coming to life in the evening although very few restaurants right in the village- not far to walk to Arietta where there are several more. The start of fiesta in late August was very noisy with revellry going on till at least 3.00 or 4.00 am- a bit disturbing. But we enjoyed the fiesta activities in the square by the seaside over the next few days. And the people are very friendly. There are no actual beaches but there are rock pools or you can go down a ladder and swim straight in the sea. It is so mcuh nicer here than in the resorts to the south and Lanzarote has a lot of attractive sites to see if you hire a car. In fact a car is pretty much essential here. It is a really good location if you want to see the real Lanzarote, which is really very mcuh nicer than people imagine- we love it.”
