About Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote and has many advantages for those who are looking for sun, sea and sand as well as good fish restaurants that generally host the catch of the day. From Playa Blanca's seafront you can see across to Fuerteventura, which is a mere 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the island several times a day from the main harbour.

The front is populated with a variety of beaches, notably Playa Dorada, Papagayo (reckoned to be one of the best on the island) and Playa Flamingo. Playa Blanca has a relaxed atmosphere compared to the more upbeat nightlife in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants on the front feature a wonderful sea view - perfect for couples and families.

Owner's Tips...

A stroll along the boardwalk brings you to the fantastic Marina Rubicon, with it’s brand new shopping centre, bowling alley and numerous waterside restaurants. Ibiza’s world famous ‘Café Del Mar’ has opened a beautiful new restaurant and bar here, it’s really worth a visit. Temptation awaits you at patisserie ‘Moulin Rouge’ on the waters edge. Various boat trips are available. One service drops you right onto the sand at the horseshoe shaped Papagayo beach ‘Playa de Papagayo”. If you feel like sampling the high life, take a helicopter tour over the volcanoes, land at the marina’s own helipad, then charter a yacht.

A short walk to the east, brings you the edge of the protected nature reserve with it’s 6 sandy beaches. It’s a vast area between the coast and mountains and it is excellent for walking, hiking, mountain biking and quad biking. The largest beach, ’Playa Mujeres’, is a 15-20 minute walk from the house or 8-10 minutes if you park next to the Papagayo Arena Hotel. If you don’t want to walk, there’s vehicular access to most of the beaches. To see a 360° view of ‘Playa Mujeres’ go to www.Lanzaroteisland.com/english/panoramas/papagayo-3.php

Playa Blanca’s various four and five star hotel spas offer a range of hydrotherapies and treatments such as massage, hot stone, manicure, pedicure and facials.

There’s an extensive and well maintained children's play area not far from the house which has swings, slides, a tunnel, climbing frame, large pulley slide, pretend shop and seesaws. Directly next to it is a terrace café where you can sit and watch.

Just around the corner from the house is the impressive sunken tennis court of the ‘Coloradamar’ apartments. The court can be hired and tuition is available for adults and children at an extra fee. The house is easy to find being on Avenida Papagayo(Parrot Avenue).

A couple of hundred yards away is a large supermarket.

Behind the main promenade, in the centre of town there is a large pedestrianised shopping street.

Holiday reviews of Casa Abba

25th November 2011 by Rich (STAYED IN OCTOBER 2011)

“We stayed at Villa Casa Abba for at the begining of October, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa had a nice feel about it, and the sun terrace and pool were good. We found the location very good for us. The excellent Papagayo beach was about a 20 minutes walk, and the Marina Rubicon was similarly about a 20 minutes very pleasant walk away. There is a closeby bus stop, where buses go past every 30 minutes, and which will take you the short journey into the centre of Playa Blanca”

20th October 2010 by glory (STAYED IN SEPTEMBER 2010)

“Had a lovely time at Casa Abba, position just right, would have to say though not being the type (or age) to party or drink all night, its always nic e to come home after a nice meal and sit and watch TV for a while, unf. not possible unless you speak french, spanish or arabic, if satellite is offered then maybe make it clear there are only a few english speaking channels available, If we had been forwarned we would have taken some more DVD's with us. We wouldlike to revisit for a longer stay esp.during winter months but this would make us hesitate. Apart from this the villa was very comfortable, and we did enjoy our holiday.”

5th July 2010 by Kayleigh and Jake (STAYED IN JUNE 2010)

“I firstly would like to say thank you to Roger, the villa was excellent. Its about a 2 min walk to the shops but there are no local restaurants unless you walk to the Marina Rubicon. It’s an amazing walk so it didn’t bother us atall. All the night life is further on into Playa Blanca as is the beach but it’s only a 5 min bus journey away. There is a beach near the villa but unfortunately there is no sand. With this being an end villa it’s very windy so if you don’t want to get very sunburnt like me I wouldn’t be deceived by the wind and put sun cream on, as it’s still very hot. The villa is amazing and there is great views we are even thinking of going next year as the it was amazing.

I would recommend this villa to families who want a quiet holiday. Thanks you very much Roger we will def be returning but for maybe 10 days instead.”
