About the property
This spacious apartment has two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Both rooms having large fitted wardrobes.
The fitted pine kitchen has a small electric cooker and hob unit, microwave and fridge freezer and is seperated from the living area by a pine and marble dining bar. The sofa has a pull out single bed. The living room leads on the the south facing private balcony with leisure furniture. We have satellite TV and DVD player.
The bathroom consists of a vanity unit, w.c. and a walk in shower. There is an iron and ironing board for your convenience.
The complex is situated on the edge of the original fishing village of Puerto del Carmen (known as the Old Town) with its excellent bars and fish restaurants. There is a small rocky beach here and a few minutes walk away is the new Biosphere shopping complex with its many shops staying open in the evenings. Equally convenient in the other direction is the New Town with its two mile stretch of golden sands and the promenade which now enables you to walk all the way to Arrecife via Matagorda and Playa Honda . There are shops, bars and supermarkets to discover en route!
A couple of supermarkets, bars and restaurants within close proximity to the apartment so there is no need to venture far if you do not want to.
Transfer time between the airport and apartment is approximately 10 minutes and 12 to 15 euros in a taxi. We can pre-book a car if requested at very competitive rates.The complex consists of a development of twenty-four privately owned apartments built on two storeys. They form one side of the enclosed private gardens which are laid out with shrubs and a large oval swimming pool. Our apartment No 41, although being ground floor, has a private sheltered balcony.

About Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote
About 15 minutes drive from Arrecife airport, Puerto del Carmen offers 5km of broad, pale sandy beaches as well as a wide variety of places to eat and drink and it remains a popular destination for holidaymakers from far and wide. Made up of a ‘new’ and ‘old’ town, Puerto del Carmen has no high-rise structures and almost all buildings are white and unpretentious.
For nightlife in Puerto del Carmen you can watch the locals taking part in a few games of boules in the old town, which seems to be a nightly occurrence. The old town also offers a great variety of restaurants serving fresh fish, while if you head off into the holiday area you'll find everything from traditional English sports bars to Chinese restaurants.
Owner's Tips...
Situated in the Atlantic Ocean, the most easterly of the Canary Islands and approximately 70 miles off the coast of Africa. The island is around 30 miles by 11 miles and enchants the visitor with its weird and wonderful scenery. It is dotted with volcanoes and lava fields and because of so little rainfall the island seems at first barren. You soon grow accustomed to it and begin to notice the changing colours of the volcanoes at different times of the day with sunsets being spectacular. Crops are watered with de-salinated water and the fields covered with volcanic ash called picon which absorbs dews at night and prevents evaporation during the day. The gardens of villas and apartments are filled with bougainvillaea, hisbiscus and geraniums. It has an excellent climate, warm and sunny all year round. There are pretty, well kept, unspoilt villages dotted around the island and it is difficult to imagine you are in on an island which also has commercialised resorts. There has been no high rise development due to stringent building controls.
Self drive car hire is cheap and is an excellent way of exploring the miles of unspoilt beaches, the Timanfaya National Park (where you can see food being cooked by the heat of the volcano) The vantage point of Mirador Del Rio has stunning views towards Graciosa a small island which can be reached by ferry from Orzola. There is also a ferry to Fuertaventura where it is possible to spend a day.
For the more energetic, surfing, wind surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing and game fishing are all available and equipment can be hired locally. Tennis and squash are also available at the sports centre a few minutes walk from our apartment.
There is a vast choice of restaurants to choose from, some being positioned around the original harbour of Puerto del Carmen where you can pass the time watching a boules game played by the fishermen.
There are numerous bars and discretely positioned nightclubs around the resort, some offering live music. Even in the height of season the resort still retains a certain charm.
