Casa Hoopoe is a homely, comfortable villa, with a large private, solar heated pool on its own terrace. You can enjoy a splash free drink on the spacious terrace above, whilst watching over friends and family using the pool below! The main villa sleeps 6, but if you want to sleep 8 there is also a self contained apartment below. The apartment is never let separately.
The villa is south facing with a peaceful garden and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
There is ample outside seating and dining room from where to enjoy the view and there is a built in barbecue. Steps lead down to the pool terrace where there are sunbeds and plenty of space for poolside relaxation.
Inside the villa the dining area has sea and mountain views and leads into the spacious living room with satellite TV, DVD and internet connection. A wide servery joins the living area to the large kitchen which has the benefit of all mod.cons! There is a convenient window hatch for passing food to the outside seating area from which you can enjoy the sea view whilst cooking!
The master bedroom is ensuite. The shower can also be accessed from the terraces, so bathers don't need to go through the house to rinse off. There are two good sized twin rooms (in one the beds convert to a double)and a separate bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, 2 x sinks and wc.
The apartment has separate access and is self contained with double bedroom, living room with TV/DVD, kitchen, shower and wc.

We are keen divers and wildlife enthusiasts so have provided information on the fantastic diving opportunities around Lanzarote, both for the experienced diver and those wishing to have a go; and also the other wildlife that can be seen on this unique volcanic island.

Owner's Tips...
We are keen divers and wildlife enthusiasts and have provided information in the villa on the fantastic diving and snorkelling opportunities around Lanzarote and also other wildlife you may see. There are many diving schools for the inexperienced, we can recommend Safari Diving at Playa Chica.
We have maps and lots of guide books to inspire your explorations. There numerous walks and cycling opportunitites.
Lanzarote owes its unspoilt feel largely to native born artist Cesar Manrique, whose sculptures and architecture are in evidence all over the island. His house and gallery are well worth a visit, as are the attractions that he has designed for example the caves of Jameos del Agua.

Casa Hoopoe from 1 review...

(STAYED IN OCTOBER 2010)
“Everything its says on the label, fab place to stay and ideal for seeing the rest of the island. Although close to the airport there is very little noise and the pool is ideal for the kids to keep themselves amused if you decide to stay at home for the day. We will definetly be going again, and will use the same villa. The local shop is a 5 minute drive, and the supermarket is a 10 minute drive. Playa Honda beach is clean and well maintained, with plenty of restaurants and bars for lunch or dinner. We travelled around the island to see everything and casa hoopoe was an ideal central point. The only downside was,we couldnt stay longer. Many thanks Penny.”

About us
We live in Northumberland which is beautiful but can be a touch cold and dark in the winter so Casa Hoopoe is our antidote! We visit whenever we can. Nick is a keen diver and Penny loves snorkeling. The kids are just discovering both. We enjoy walking and wildlife watching and the surreal volcanic landscape of Lanzarote.
We appreciate the influence that Cesar Manrique has had on the island - limiting high rise buildings and billboards for example and we enjoy seeing his sculptures on many of the roundabouts.
What we love about our property
We chose Lanzarote as the nearest place to the UK for year round sun and great diving! We have been regular visitors to Lanzarote for years and we were delighted to find Casa Hoopoe in the peaceful village of Guime, centrally located on the island and close to good diving and snorkeling beaches. And the sea views are fantastic!
Another reason we chose Casa Hoopoe was for the large the pool. It occupies its own spacious terrace, So if you don't want to get splashed you can stay on the upper terrace where the villa is and gaze out to sea! Or watch out for hoopoes. The kids will happily spend most of the day in and around the pool.
There is a larger shaded seating on the terrace which is very conducive to relaxation when you have had enough sun, but still affords the same wonderful view of palm trees and the Atlantic Ocean.
We were also attracted to the spacious living room and good sized kitchen which is put to much use when the family are with us - it is extremely convenient being able to pass everything through the kitchen window to the outdoor dining area. We are looking forward to being creative with the large garden area.
