Accommodation description
Featured in The Times, The Telegraph and The Independent in 2010. This luxury 40 square meter eco cottage is set in the gardens on the eco retreat of 'Finca de Arrieta'. It has been sympathetically restored and tastefully furnished. With its spacious living area, it can accommodate upto 4 guests + cot. The contemporary design includes split level floor, open plan living room, kitchen area and bedroom.
The cottage has been creatively styled to give a cosy cottage feel using wood & local stone flooring. There is a extra large king size double bed in the bedroom area a double sofa bed for extra guests in the lounge area. The shower room has a walk in stone shower and free standing marble sink. There is a fully fitted kitchen and the lounge area has stunning views over to the sea, surrounding fields and mountains. The cottage has a walled private terrace with uninterrupted sea views, perfect for relaxing and catching some sunshine on the teak wood loungers. Enjoy a BBQ and al fresco dining on your private terrace.
The Eco Garden Cottage at the Eco Retreat of Finca De Arrieta is just 300 meters from the beautiful beach at Arrieta.
The entire retreat is powered using sustainable energy (solar panels and wind turbines). There is a fantastic gated and solar heated pool and chill out area, set within a stunning location and breathtaking surroundings.
The prestigious 30,000 square meter estate of "Finca de Arrieta" hosts 10 seperate eco properties ranging from luxury villa to eco yurts. All guests have shared use of the of the solar heated 10 meter long pool and chill out area to relax and entertain alike. The pool area boasts sea and mountain views, mature gardens and a Polynesian style day bed. There is also have a large covered area where there is a second kitchen, further dining table for 8 guests and authentic Moroccan floor seating and WIFI internet access. This area is spacious and has hard wood floor a perfect place to read a book or enjoy a meal.
The area was originally farming land and has two natural wells on site, there are mature exotic gardens including fruit trees such as Mango, Banana, Guava, Lime etc. The Finca is partly walled using stones from the land. There is a children’s play area which includes children’s play park, sand football pitch, sunken trampoline, a wooden "pirate" boat and the resident donkey “Mollie” There is also an added bonus of farm eggs every morning from our free range hens.
A basic welcome pack is included complete with a bottle of wine, water, crisps, milk, tea and coffee. WiFi connection is available within the Eco retreat.

Owner's Tips...
The cottage is set in a fabulous location over looking the beach in the north of the island.
The rural location is a perfect setting for a relaxing peaceful holiday in the countryside with the beauty of being next to the sea. Arrieta beach and village are just a 5 minute walk away, the village has the beauty of being a traditional Canarian Fishing Village, however providing all of the amenities you may need like excellent restaurants, local supermarkets, bakery and sea front tapas bars. A wonderful place to holiday and experience the true Lanzarote life style.
Guests at Finca Arrieta can enjoy various extras such as an organised evening barbecue and yoga at the Finca, a boat excursion to the neighbouring island of La Graciosa, baby sitting, aromatherapy massage, road and mountain bike hire and body board and surf trips and lessons, please enquire about organising these extras.
This area of Lanzarote is fantastic for walking/mountain biking etc. Or maybe you just want to relax and read a good book next to the pool in peaceful surroundings.
Local activities include surfing, sailing, fishing, wind-surfing, tennis, cycling, horse riding, paragliding, golf, walking, mountain biking, diving and swimming.

“Eco Garden Cottage, We had a lovely week in the garden cottage which was a beautiful and really cozy space with everything we needed for cooking and relaxing. The space by the pool is wonderful and the view over the mountains from the day bed was beautiful. The whole set up is friendly and helpful and Michelle and Tila made every effort to make it a great trip - even driving us to the dive centre themselves! Highly recommended for a relaxed break”

“The Garden Cottage, Finca de Arrieta was so much better than we expected. We had thought, wrongly, that Lanzarote was a croncrete tourist jungle - but we got the sweetests little house in the middle of a tropical garden. peaceful, warm, comfortable - with the kindest hosts, Tial & Michelle. We left a snowbound Scotland and found ourselves on the sunny beach at Famara! Robin had five afternoons learning the "Dennis Smith Technique" Surf lessons with a great Australian teacher, organised by Michelle.
Lanzarote was a revelation, the landscape stunning, with so much to see and do.
fabulous walking country, you could walk for miles past all the fields of vegetables and vines in their famous black volcanic soil.
A wonderful holiday and we will definately be back!”

About us
Lanzarote Retreats.com is a family run business which has been growing fast since summer 2007. Lanzarote Retreats is the creation of Tila and Michelle Braddock who wanted to offer a rural type accommodation mainly in and around Arrieta in the North of the Island where they live and love.
Arrieta is a traditional Lanzarote fishing village, a hidden jewel on the island, mainly un-discovered by tourists. It boasts wonderful sea front restaurants, quaint historic buildings and has a great beach for families, with a beach bar, play park and it is often great for body boarding and surfing.
They strive to offer you a personal service when booking and during your holiday in Lanzarote, as Tila and Michelle live at Finca de Arrieta they are always at hand for any information or help during your stay. Tila and Michelle are helped by Sarah who is based in their Costa Teguise office.
What we love about our business
Tila and Michelle have lived on Lanzarote for over 20 years and have bought up their 4 children here and been involved in Island life. The Lonely Planet guide book for the Canary Islands (4th Edition page 133 and 139) interviewed Tila and Michelle regarding Lanzarote and they feature along with Finca De Arrieta in the "Local Voices"section. They clearly love the island and therefore sharing it with those visiting the island through their holiday rental business.
