Accommodation description
Our Lanzarote villa is on the complex of Marina Azul in the exclusive resort of Puerto Calero. This spacious 2 bedroom house can sleep up to 6 people with 2 double bedrooms a large kitchen, lounge, bathroom & sun terraces. With a luxury communal pool. It's the ideal base for any holiday!

Marina Villa is equipped with everything you will need to make your holiday just as you want it! Whether you like to cook & eat in, BBQ or relax in front of the TV or just sunbathe on the terraces with a cold glass of wine. Even if you want to get your washing done before you leave! You'll find everything you need!
The lounge has 2 sofas (one is a sofa bed), an armchair/ rocker, 2 storage cupboards, TV and satellite box so bring your satellite card to get the channels you love at home, TV cabinet & a coffee table.
In our modern fully equipped kitchen you will find an oven, hob, microwave, full height fridge freezer, toaster & kettle as well as all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils you could want. There is a rear terrace and washing area with a washing machine and clothes lines. You will also find an iron and board for your use, so you don't have to worry about that travel iron!
There are two good sized double bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds and of course a pull down double sofa bed in the lounge. There is ample wardrobe space with built in and free standing wardrobes. The bathroom fittings include bath/shower, WC, bidet, vanity basin with marble top, two mirrors, towel rails, and a bathroom cabinet for your toiletries. You will have plenty of bedding and towels (for bathroom not beach) and if you would like to stay for more than one week there is a maid service and towel/ bedding change over.
There are two main terrace areas. Front large terrace with two tables, six chairs, two sun loungers and a BBQ for your use. Roof terrace. This area is also large and very private. Feel free to use any sun loungers etc up here instead! Both terraces have views to the sea and the roof terrace has panoramic views to the mountains too!
There is also a safe for use during your stay included.
We will provide you with a bottle of water, some milk, sugar , coffee & tea to tide you over the first couple of hours! so theres no need to run straight to the shops when you arrive
We can also provide high chairs, travel cots, if required for a small extra charge.

About Puerto Calero, Lanzarote
The marina of Puerto Calero was opened in 1990 and was the brainchild of José Calero. It now has no lack of yachts and boats and it's become one of the nicest places on the island with many new boutiques and restaurants to enjoy. The marina is also the starting point for a range of activities including submarine safaris, shark fishing and cruises.
If you enjoy tapas, the restaurant Taberna del Puerto comes highly recommended. Their Canarian potatoes, garlic mushrooms and stuffed peppers are well complimented with the local mojo sauce.

From here you can book sailing trips on luxury yachts, Go on the catamaran for a day trip, go scuba diving, dive with submarine safaris or take a water taxi to nearby Puerto Del Carmen, book a sports fishing trip and many more.
Or you can just enjoy the wealth of restaurants where you can eat cuisines from all over the world including Spanish, English, Mexican, Italian and Chinese. Relax and enjoy some Tapas and watch the boats or have a few drinks in one of the local bars and watch the sports.
You can also shop in some of the high fashion boutiques on model row. There are health spas to pamper yourself, or the Whale Museum and art gallery to enjoy. That's why Puerto Calero is the Jewel of Lanzarote and our Lanzarote holiday villa is ideally located to enjoy all Puerto Calero has to offer

“We are a family of four, children aged 5 and 20 months, we have just returned from a very beautiful Marina Villa in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote.
The villa itself is very well equipped and spacious, there really was everything in the villa you could ever wish for, home from home in every way. The villa was clean and beautifully finished with those little touches making all the difference, we even got a couple of emails from the owner while we were away telling us of local attractions we may be interested in while we were there.
We had one of the starter packs offered which was an excellent idea, when we arrived we had milk, water, butter, bread, ham, cheese even wine all in the fridge. For those that arrive late at night this is a must, I can highly recommend this. There are a couple of large supermarkets within a 10 minute taxi ride where you can stock up if you want to take advantage of the BBQ, red meat is very cheap, with a large sirloin steak working out around 2 euros each, what could be better than a steak, salad and nice fresh bread, washed down by a nice glass of sangria (litre cartons for less than 2 euros)
The pool was just around the corner from the villa, some days we were one of only a couple of families around the pool so there was no worry that you might not get a lounger or that the children would not be safe, there is a small childrens pool that was just the right depth. There was also a small childrens play area to the rear of the villa with swings and a sea saw.
The port was around a 10 minute walk down the hill, it has many designer shops and lovely restaurants of all types of cuisine and price, you could quite easily spend every night there if you didn’t want to go too far. By day the port was buzzing with fisherman coming in with their catch which was fun to watch. Remember you need to walk back up the hill on your return to the villa, its good exercise and is a good way of walking off your dinner. We found a really lovely cocktail bar that served superb Mojitos, I can recommend a visit.
Just 3km away in a taxi (around 5 euros) is the town of Puerto del Carmen which is a much more lively, touristy area. There were no end of restaurants and shops, all enticing you in with free drinks for adults and free meals for children. We found a bar called Sunset Beach on our second week that had a music quiz every night, we won three times winning bottles of Vodka and Schnapps and free meals and drinks, well worth a visit if you like that sort of thing.
There is a lovely coastal walk from Puerto Calero into Puerto del Carmen, it takes about an hour but is across some quite rough terrain, we did it with a buggy which was a little bit of a struggle but ok if there are two adults. The view was worth it and so was the nice cold beer once you had reached your destination.
As it was a relaxing holiday we did not really venture far although we did take the children to the Texas Ranch which is a zoo with pony rides, canoes and live sea lion shows etc, a good day out and by night they have Texas evenings which I believe are well worth a visit. The ranch is only about 10 minutes away so just a few euros in a taxi.
The weather every day was warm and sunny with temperatures around 30 degrees late July/early August but it does stay quite hot at night so you will need to use the fans, lovely for sitting out on the terrace though till late.
We really had such a lovely chilled holiday, I would definitely return and can highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing break.

Sorry it has taken so long to reply.
I am Jayne's fiance, who stayed with her at the villa along with our children.
We were absolutely delighted with the accomodation when we stayed there in August. My daughter lives in Tias and we have friends there, and we also spend a lot of time in Puerto Del Carmen, so it is in an ideal location for us. The villa was very clean and spacious and there were plenty of cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery etc., which was excellent for us as we had decided to eat in most of the time we were there. The beds were very comfortable and the shower/bath was excellent, The living area was very spacious and we were delighted with the tv for the kids dvd's, playstation. (Well i say we, i should have said the kids were). The complex was very nice and the pool area was clean and (usually) peaceful. The roof top terrace was an excellent way of getting away from it all and relaxing in the sun with a book for a couple of hours.
All in all, we had an excellent time and this was mainly due to staying at your lovely villa. The last couple of times we have been to Lanzarote, the accomodation has been pretty poor to say the least, so having somewhere where you can relax and enjoy your holiday is a big weight off of your shoulders.
If we are welcome, we will definitely booking to stay there again.
